San Diego pursuit in the freeways
A
suspect was taken into custody after leading a vehicle pursuit on San Diego
freeways. The chase began at 9:40 a.m. on Friday after the suspect was stopped
for speeding on I-8 near West Willow Street. The suspect, who reportedly threatened
people, led authorities on a pursuit of northbound I-5. The chase ended at
Cassidy Street, where authorities apprehended the suspect shortly before 11
that morning. It was unclear what the motorist was suspected of doing, and the
San Diego and Oceanside police departments and the Orange County Sheriff's
Department were asked to assist the California Highway Patrol. I'm glad that
the suspect is now in custody.
